Adam (Atom) Benjamin is an American-born animator and cartoonist of Trinidadian descent. Born in Baltimore and raised in Takoma Park, Maryland, Adam is currently based in Yokohama as a 2025 MEXT research scholar, researching Black representation in Japanese film and print media.

Adam holds a BFA from the Cooper Union School of Art and is now completing his Master of Fine Arts at Tokyo University of the Arts, School of Film and New Media, in the Animation Department.
